These are my aerial photographs I took my drone flying around Jaws. These were shot on January 20th 2014 on a GoPro Black shooting 12 megapixel .5 second stills in wide format. This was my first time using a drone to photograph surfing and I think the results turned out pretty cool. The drone used is aQAV400 which is flying the same flight computer that powers the DJI Phantom. If you know who these brave dudes are please send me their names so I can credit their amazing rides down the incredible wave known as Jaws in Maui Hawaii! All of the following aerial shots were taken from my QAV400 photography drone with a GoPro Silver on 11 megapixels, Wide FOV, on a 2 second timer. I have been messing around with the settings on my Silver and will soon do a post detailing which ones I think are best for shooting aerial photos of houses and land to supplement my ebook on aerial photography. Next I will be exploring my GoPro black which I think is a better option because it has many more settings available. These aerial photographs were flown in a subdivision called Peahi Farms that is about 5 minutes away from where we are living and we stumbled onto it by accident while looking for a beach. It was beautiful and I hope these pictures can express that beauty in a way that is easy to appreciate! Maui is amazing. |
