I finally got around to editing the rest of my drone footage from October 28th and it turned out pretty good. I have never gotten so much content from only 3 batteries, so I was pretty happy about that. I pulled some images from the 4k video and got some cool images I wanted to share. I put them up on my instagram @logicwins.
I have a product I would like to recommend to people who are having a hard time with their inspire 1 case breaking. There are lots of backpack options for the Phantom but really the only thing that works for the Inspire is to use backpack straps. I ordered one from Amazon for about $70 and it works really well. Here is a picture of me using it to carry my drone around. You can click here to order it from Amazon - Koozam Carrying Backpack for DJI Inspire 1.
Here is the edit with all of my Jaws footage. I had a really hard time finding music for this one for some reason. Choosing music is one of the most difficult things you can do when making any kind of a video and I struggled on this one. Jesse Richman is the guy at the end just killing it on the kitesurf.

I spent most of my day at Jaws or driving to Jaws waiting for the swell to pickup. The effort paid off when Jesse Richman just went nuts kitesurfing. The other guys windsurfing and kiting were really good (I have more footage I will edit soon for that) but Jesse is just on another level. It is like watching a super hero. Here is the footage I got of him. Keep in mind, I only flew 3 batteries and got all of this footage of one person plus a ton more of other guys.. the conditions were that good! The Inspire developed a bit of a tilted horizon during my flights but besides that it performed flawlessly. The wind always makes things more challenging and the distance from shore can magnify any problems you might have but this drone did great. I just need more batteries. A lot more batteries.
A Much Needed Update! It looks like I have not done a post since July and a new one is overdue. In the few months between posts I have been using my Inspire a lot more and I have really started enjoying it. I miss the size of the Phantom but the authority and retractable landing gear has grown on me. I missed some great aerial video opportunities with some big summer swells because I was surfing. This has become more of a problem for me lately - it is just so fun! Yesterday we went back to the west side and I dragged my Inspire along and flew two batteries and ended up with some fun footage! Here is the video I made: With winter right around the corner and a strong El Nino, some very large swells are predicted for this winter. I will be spending lots of time at Jaws and other breaks putting together still pictures and video. Speaking of still pictures, that has become much more of a focus for me than actual video. Some pictures I took at Jaws when I first moved to Maui look so amazing even though they were taken with a wide angle lens on the GoPro. I can't wait to use the Inspire on a huge day out there! On the product front, DJI released the OSMO camera which is basically an Inspire 1 camera gimbal on a stick and just the stick you can plug your Inspire camera in without buying another. This stuff is pricey but is probably worth it for anyone using this stuff on jobs. Most people I heard from were really stoked about the Osmo camera but I was more excited about this charging hub. You plug 4 batteries in and it charges them one at a time. It also works with the higher power charger if you want to speed things up a bit. If you have not checked out the latest Inspire accessories lately, just click on this charging hub picture to check all the new stuff out.
